What it does
Assembly provides AutoCAD commands for turning selected objects into blocks and for making a new block from references to an existing one. It assigns names using a progressive numbering pattern and stores the next number in the drawing properties. The replacement command can update selected assembly instances while retaining their attribute values. Additional options cover numbering styles, orientation, base points, labels, object conversion, nested content, layers, solids, and block protection.

Progressive naming
The plugin assigns sequential block names and supports Roman numeral or alphabetic numbering.
Assembly replacement
AsmNew creates a replacement block from references to an existing block.
Attribute retention
Values assigned to attributes in the replaced block remain with the corresponding new block.
Orientation control
The plugin can use a largest flat surface, a selected coordinate system, or two points on the X axis for object rotation.
Base point selection
A block base point can come from a lower-left grip, the block center, the bottom center, or the current UCS origin.
Block preparation
The plugin can convert meshes to solids, remove nested blocks and arrays, move objects to layer 0, join solids, add an MText name label, and prevent exploding.
Use cases
- Wall sections requiring electrical channels can be separated into distinct assemblies while other sections remain unchanged.
- Existing mirrored or scaled assemblies can be replaced with new 1:1 blocks for LAY or sawing-table work.
