What it does

Electrical Panels Manager manages panel properties such as names, locations, enclosure types, slots, and comments in Revit. It supports batch edits, automatic panel naming, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, and short-circuit analysis. Results can be written to Revit model parameters, and panel schedules and engineering analyses can be exported to Excel and PDF. The add-in also creates Revit panel schedule views and displays upstream and downstream panel relationships.

Key capabilities

from the Autodesk App Store listing

Panel property management

View and edit panel names, locations, enclosure types, slot counts, and comments.

Batch panel editing

Automatic panel naming

Generate panel identifiers from a prefix, reference code, separator, start index, and increment.

Cable sizing

Voltage-drop analysis

Calculate voltage drop using cable impedance and circuit parameters for three-phase circuits.

Short-circuit analysis

Calculate symmetrical initial, peak, and equivalent thermal short-circuit currents with upstream impedance analysis.

Panel report export

Export panel schedules and project totals to XLSX, and generate PDF panel schedule and engineering analysis reports.

Panel relationship tools

Create Revit panel schedule views and display upstream and downstream relationships in a panel hierarchy tree.

Who it's for

Electrical engineers and BIM coordinators.

How it compares

Sizing Cable & CB focuses on circuit-breaker sizing inside Revit, while Electrical Panels Manager also manages panel properties, cable sizing, voltage-drop analysis, short-circuit studies, and panel reports. BreakerWiring calculates feeders, branch circuits, and overcurrent protection devices using NEC NFPA 70, whereas Electrical Panels Manager includes panel management and calculations described under IEC standards. ETAP DataX imports Revit electrical systems into ETAP for analysis and exports results back to Revit, while Electrical Panels Manager performs the described panel calculations within Revit.
